The Swirligig model was developed as a fun hand cycle option for children of many abilities. The hand cranks operate independently of each other. That is the key to the spinning motion of the Swirligig model. Children can propel the tryke straight, or spin it in all directions by operating the hand cranks. It is an ideal solution to exercise the upper extremities. It is a great choice for riders who cannot tolerate full hip and knee range of motion, those with paralysis or missing limbs and clients with increased tone who cannot tolerate pedaling. It promotes upper body strength and motor planning. The seat slides along the horizontal frame to allow for varying leg lengths and the hand crank assembly may be adjusted to different positions.
